Unit One
Biodynamic Principles and Policies
Unit Description
This unit involves defining the principles and practices for a biodynamic system. It requires reviewing workplace activities and determining whether they are in accordance with those required for a biodynamic system. This unit also involves investigating the requirements for biodynamic certification.
Upon completion of this unit the student will be able to review site practices, develop policies and principles by which the site will be managed and identify the requirements for biodynamic certification.
Unit Two
Principles of Biodynamic Soil Fertility
Unit Description
This unit covers the key principles and practices of maintaining soil fertility in a biodynamic system.
Upon completion of this unit the student will be able to identify the principles of biodynamic soil fertility and understand the importance of enlivening the soil and maintaining soil humus.
Unit Three
Manage Conversion to a Biodynamic System
Unit Description
This unit involves the process of changing or adjusting site practices so they are in accordance with those required for a biodynamic system. It requires establishing soil conditions upon which the biodynamic system can be developed. It also involves determining whether there is the possibility of chemical residues in the soil and implementing strategies to overcome contamination.
Upon the completion of this unit the student will be able to implement the most suitable strategies to change or modify site practices so they are in accordance with biodynamic principles, create soil conditions required for establishing the biodynamic system and take action, if required, to overcome any chemical contamination of the soil.
